Hi, I'm Richard, President of CompSoc this year. I'm a PC fan with a PC, Linux and Mac boxes. I also have a DS and PS2. I've spent my placement year doing hardware and networking so I'm pretty up to date on that stuff, not much programming though so I'm dreading final year :( .

If you have any suggestions this year for things you would like to do or trips you would like to see organised then please drop me a PM and I'll see what I can do.

Hi folks, I'm Ina (aka Ian MacGillivray), and I'm Secretary for the year, and as such am the one liaising with the various companies and other societies we have joint ventures with. I also help out with any other CompSoc stuff as needed.

I'm a final year CS student, currently regretting choosing Artificial Intelligence for my final year project. I worked at Microsoft last year, play in a lovely jazz band and need a haircut.

Hi, I'm Chris and I'm Treasurer this year, which means I get to juggle pretty numbers to avoid having you lot paying tax. I've been a gamer since I laid tiny hands on an Amiga, and chose Computer Science (now in final year) because I failed at biology. Ask me about my placement year and you won't get an interesting answer.

If you need a chat, photographer, girls' night in or have questions about payment dates regarding protection money, don't hesitate to get in touch.

You?

Web Monkey

We're currently looking for someone to maintain, and possibly redesign our website and forums. Knowledge of HTML and CSS is a must, and proficiency with PHP, phpbb or graphic design would be a plus. It'll look great on your CV and you'll have the chance to influence all CompSoc decisions through the year as a member of the committee. Apply here, or pm Rich.

You?

Marketing

We're also looking for someone to lend a hand with promoting the society, and our events. You'd be in charge of getting the word out amongst students at Aston, creating promotional material (we'll pay for all printing costs, fear not), and also just helping out with general committee business - such as organising events. If you're interested, just pm Rich.
